What Home Means To Me

When we think about a House, we imagine a few walls and a roof, maybe even a couch. However, a home is so much more than that. It is a place where love, family, and friends come together to create a sense of belonging and comfort. I think everyone should understand the importance of having a safe and secure place to call home, which is why I’m writing these few paragraphs to explain why. I have heard of Habitat for Humanity, but I never understood just how important their work is for those who desperately need a house to live in. Reading about Charmaine and Melody's story with my class made me realize The impact of Habitat for Humanity. I could relate to their struggles on a personal level because my grandma is in a wheelchair and cannot move around the house easily, especially not in the front room where my younger siblings and cousins like to play, when we are at my Grandma and Grandpa's house. I think home is where your heart is. I know that's an old saying, but I think it’s true you don’t need a big and fancy house to have a good life. You could have a medium-sized house and have the best life ever! Home is where my friends come over for sleepovers and we eat too much candy. Home is where you have fun and laugh, play games, eat your favourite food and have fun!
