An Empty House

I’m just an empty house. No memories, laughter or joy. Just spiders and a roof, ground and windows. One cold winter day the door slowly opened. A gust of wind ran in, followed by a small family. They hung up their coats and the kids ran around in joy. Their dad brought in toys, books, and more. They hung up pictures. A sweet smell of cookies filled me up. It made me very happy. There are apple juice spills on the carpet. Colouring is on my walls. There is laughter all around me. I am happy, not like before. On cold days they cuddle up warm on my couches. On warm days they play outside. They are always happy and laughing. Now I am filled with laughter and joy.
