What is Home

Home is not just a place to live It is a place where I feel loved and safe Home is a cozy hug It is a place to be with my family And it is not the same as a house Home does not just have a couch When I feel like I am home I feel joyful and curious Home is when and where I am with my family Home is where I am loved and cared for Home feels like fireworks going off in the sky Home is anywhere I feel like I belong Some people don’t have a place they call home Their life must feel dark, unsafe and excluded Everyone deserves to have a place they call home And I feel very lucky to have that Home smells like my mom’s perfume Home tastes like my grandma’s homemade burgers Home feels like my dad’s black sweater Home is important
