An Idea of Home

When you think of the word “home” What ideas spring in you? Do you think of a poem Or do you not have a clue? In our homes Love fills the air There’s no despair ‘Cause home’s feelings Never stop The fuzzy rugs, Loving hugs, And takeout from your favourite shop Or maybe your home is someplace else Maybe you don’t live there But in any home It’s safe, loving, and full of care In our homes, there’s no sound of put-downs But maybe the sound of cooking hashbrowns In our homes, we hear put-ups And in the midst of dinner, The clinking of cups And along with What this poem just told, Maybe you’ll remember this When thinking about the word “home”
