What Home Means to Me

What is home? Is it a house, money, or a place to go? Well, it’s quite obvious the answer is no. Home is where you feel safe, loved, and happy Home means being cared for and making special memories Home is the fresh smell of my mom’s food Her smiles, laughter, and her happy mood The sound of her mellifluous voice And in my home, there is always joy Home is in my cozy and warm bed Where, when I feel tired, I can rest my head Home is the feeling of belonging A place where I can be truly honest when I’m talking Home is not just one stationary building It’s a place of love and a blissful feeling No matter where I go, as long as I’m with my mom I don’t think anything could ever go wrong A good home must be made, not bought A place where you have freedom of thought With love, happiness and friends And memories that will never end This is why I’m so grateful to Habitat for Humanity For building homes and giving citizens a sense of security Thank you for providing a place to call home To those who may feel often alone
