Home, My Mountain Of Joy

Home. It’s much more than a word to me, It’s where I have my family tree. Filled with love, compassion, and care, The shade of my family tree, always there. When stress and irritation start to grow, Home is where my troubles let go. I climb the stairs, my bed in sight, A cozy place to cuddle up tight. Next to my sister, with a smile or a snore, It’s where my dreams take flight and soar. But not yet time to sleep, I leave her side, And to my parents’ room, I quietly slide. On their bed, with books on the shelf, I could sit and read to myself. But I realize I need to get ready so I go, Past the bathroom’s warm water flow. Memories come as I pass Grandma’s door, Happy and sad ones, forever more. The guest room, where I hide and play, Scaring others makes my day. Downstairs with my sister’s hand, Riding in an elevator is oh so grand. In the kitchen, yummy smells arise, Mom and Dad’s cooking surprise. The basement where laughter never ends, Where I play tricks on family and friends. Dad’s haunted house prank was the best, Forever remembered in my chest. Home means family always near, To help me when I feel fear. They know just when to make me smile, Life with them is worthwhile. With different ways to bring me cheer, Their love is always crystal clear. Home is not just walls and rooms, It is where love forever blooms. Memories of laughter and fun, Cheerful aura when the day is done. With my family by my side, Life is a joyful ride. It’s where my heart belongs, where I am free. That’s what home means to me.
