The Curious Cobra
One day Carl the cobra and his parents were travelling like they do every day of the week. But Carl didn't want to travel. He wanted a home where they would stay and he could make friends. His parents always said he had a home but he just ignored them. Carl told himself that wasn't true because they were always travelling from place to place. Every day they found an abandoned nest and slept in it at night. Every morning they would go in search of a new nest to stay. Until one day they stopped in the middle of their journey and Carl's parents started telling Carl what a home really was.
They told him that a home isn't just a den or a nest. A home is somewhere where you can be safe and loved. A home is where you have stuff that you need, not a bunch of stuff you want. A home isn't just some walls. It's somewhere you have family traditions that are unique.
Carl thought about this every night. They make sure I'm loved and safe.
The next day he told his parents that he thought he understood what a home is and how it feels. His parents said that a home is different for everybody because everybody is different in their own special way but that everyone deserves that home feeling.
