The True Meaning of Home

A house is bricks and beams plus stone Walls that stand yet feel alone Windows may let in the light But darkness still seems to creep in at night A house may shelter, warm and dry But it won’t hold you when you cry It’s not the roof and floor you own But the love and care you’ve truly shown A house is just a place, no meaning at all But a home is where memories start to recall Like that little tree in your backyard (now big over time) Or that crikey door in the middle of the night The one that always seems to give you a fright A home is more than walls and floor It's a place the heart will forever soar It’s a place where memories fully bloom Where laughter fills every cozy room It's somewhere that’s warm and where peace fills the heart Somewhere every family member (or friend) feels apart Thank you so much to Habitat for Humanity for starting this program and helping those who are really in need!
