Home is Everything to You

Once there was an 8 year old homeless girl. She was at the park begging for food. Someone gave her a coat. “Thank you,” she said. “Whatever,” they replied. Then about an hour later someone came and said, “Excuse me little girl, are you okay?” “No, not really.” “Would you like to live with me?” “Yes, absolutely, thank you so much,” she said. “Of course,” he said. “Wow, you have a big house.” “Thank you,” he said. “You have a sister by the way.” “Okay!” She said. Then they went into the house. “Wow, you have a big house.” “Thank you,” he replied. “Why don't I show you your room.” “Okay.” So they went upstairs. “Oh my goodness, this is a huge room. I can't take this. It has two beds for one person. I don't need all this.” “No, no, you don't need all this,” he said. “You and your sister need all this!!” “Oh! I share a room with my new sister. This is a blessing. Thank you.” “Of course,” he replied. One day later… Dear diary, this home is awesome. I understand now a home is more than shelter. It's a survival key. Home is so comfy. My favourite two places in the house are the couch and the backyard because it reminds me of my past, so now I understand why some people say home is everything to them because it can be like home is everything to me.
