They Call Me Home

I am a strong building, Built from wood, cement and bricks. I wear a hat, called a roof, It’s my protective weather mix! My name is “The House”, I’m made of four great walls. With plenty of rooms to walk through, Some filled with food, clothes, and dolls. I have lots of windows, That allows the sunshine in. Even when it’s raining outside, There’s always a rainbow within. My heart is filled with love, Because of the people I see. They live here, and call me “Home” Together - we’re a happy family. I wake up each day, With a smile on my face. You can’t really see it, But it’s felt through my embrace. I offer my security, A place so cozy, safe, and warm. A place that you can run to, To keep you sheltered from a storm. Being known as just a house, Is not only my identity. What matters most of all to me, Are the people who call me home… And that’s my reality.
