What Home Means to Me

Home is where you feel happy and accepted, like everybody really cares about you. Home is where you fit in perfectly, yet at the same time stand out uniquely. Home is that perfect time cuddling under a warm blanket with the people you love. Home is the smell of bacon sizzling in a pan, just for you, because someone knows you really like it. It’s that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you make someone smile, and also knowing that it’s okay to feel sad, because there will always be a shoulder to cry on. Home is where all your special things are, where so many happy memories have been made, and most importantly, where the people you care about are. Home is that feeling you get when you come back from a trip, and just stand there breathing all the old smells in, seeing all the old sights, thinking, “It’s good to be back.” They say home is where the heart is, but it’s really anywhere you always feel included and accepted, like you can show the real you, no matter what that means.
