A Home Isn't the Same as a House
I am lucky to have a home even if it’s small because it’s filled with love and a recognizable smell. When I first step into the kitchen the aroma forces me to stay. My living room is filled with laughter and joy. I am lucky to have a couch to sit on, a table to eat on and a bed to sleep in. I’m grateful to have 4 walls and a rooftop. I could never call my home a house because a house is a place where people just say I love you, but you don’t feel it but when you’re in a home and people say I love you can feel it in your heart. I love when I eat my mom’s food because it lights up my eyes and brings warmth to my heart. Sometimes when I’m at my friend’s house I don’t have that many memories but when I’m at my home I have so many memories. I could never confuse my home for another house because I’m used to the path. When I first open the door the smell of my home makes me want to fly. I could never forget the laughter and joy that I hear. I thank Habitat for Humanity for giving people homes.
