What home means to me
A home is not just a building. It is not just a place with space and room. What makes a home are the people inside.
A home is a place where you can share your ideas freely and where nobody judges you for who you are.
A home is a place you know that no matter where you go, you can always come back to.
I am of African heritage, which means that my hair is different and the clothes that I sometimes wear are different.
Outside home, I may feel different but at home, I can be myself. At home I am loved and accepted just the way I am.
Outside of home, you might not feel safe because of the fear of strangers or you start to feel more conscious of how you look or how you might dress.
You might have ideas that are different from other people.
But that's ok.
I know that I am unique and that I will always have a home to call my own.
