A Home is more than a House
What makes a place feel like home? Is it the house, is it the bed you sleep in or is it the memories you make there? To me, a home isn't just a place, but people that provide safety, trust and make me feel loved. Somewhere I truly belong.
A home is somewhere I can be myself, feeling comfortable around the people I'm with. There's no need to pretend or change for others to like you. The people I'm with should love me regardless. Whether I'm lost in a book for hours or laughing until I cry, I know I can be myself. I never have to worry about being judged. My home is where I feel accepted and free to be me.
Home is not just a physical place, it's the people in my life that I can trust. The people that are my home include my family and my best friend. My family is very important to me. I feel loved and that I belong whenever they‘re around. My best friend is like a sister, though we're miles apart, she's there for me. I can be myself with her, and I know I can count on her.
Special memories truly define a home. From laughter on a school day to all the fun nights spent at my grandparents’ house playing tag with my cousins, those small moments mean the most. You will never know when it'll be the last time you see each other. These memories remind me of the love that we share.
A home isn't just a house, it's so much more. It's the people and defining moments of trust, love, compassion and appreciation that surround me. It’s the place where I truly feel like myself.
