Home in a Poem

This is our main base, our favorite place, Our beginning and end to each day. Home is the place where we live and learn Knowing that’s where we’ll always return. Home is where our emotions are shared, It is where I have the people who care. Home is where your heart will always belong, But it is also a place where my siblings and I might not always get along. Home is where you will never be judged, For it is a safe space where I can take my hijab off. Home is where we can shed our tears, Where we find our true selves and face our biggest fears. Home is the place where you have family Who will always help you feel like a star. They are also the people who help you heal And whose love will always stretch far. Each home is unique, with their own little story So different, but alike in all their glory. Near or far, wherever we are, no matter where we choose to roam, This main base, our favorite place, is what we all call home.
