What does home mean to me?
My home might seem like any other house. On the outside all you see is a roof, windows, and doors, but you don’t know what you are missing out on the Inside.
A house is shelter, home is where I stay warm, on the cold and stormy days and eat popcorn and watch movies all day.
A house is conservative, home is assertive and safe, it's a place I want to be in, every single day.
A house has a backyard that fills the space with grass. My backyard is where the flowers grow when spring comes our way, where we eat breakfast every Saturday.
A house has a kitchen where you make food, my kitchen is where we do cooking competitions with my cousins, it's a place where we make messes to clean up after. We bake delicious sweets to enjoy alongside ice cream. The kitchen is a place where we cook delicious food that is served on our plate. I love the meals that we eat every single day.
A dining room is where you eat, at home, the dining room is a place that comes later in the day, a place where we eat and we pray for the food on our plate. We talk about our day and we are grateful for having each other to be able to eat dinner together every day.
Houses have bedrooms, my room is a place I like to call my space. My comfy bed takes up most of the space, it's where I sleep, and wake up to a great start at the beginning of each day.
At the end of the day, my home is a perfect place for me, but without my family or memories, my home is just a house we make our house a home.
