Home is not a building to me.

Home is not a building to me. Home is not four walls and a roof, but it’s also not a mansion or a gigantic home. Home is where you have family that you can lay on when you are sad, mad, or just need some support. Family doesn’t even need to be blood related. They just need to support you and care about you. Home is when you're shivering because it’s freezing at night, and your pet will just snuggle up to you and even when you’re sad. When you’re running a race guess who always tries to be there? Your family that’s who. They are always by your side supporting you through that race. Even when you lose, they always say “Hey, its ok if you didn’t win there is always next time!” Even when you come home devastated crying in tears, they will always be there right by your side even your pet will be right there comforting you. There are so many phenomenal memories with my family. Like in the summer last year my mom and I went in the pool then saw a gorgeous, glistering orange monarch butterfly gliding through the air. My mom said, “Wow look at that butterfly its beautiful I need a photo!” Or when my father and I made a dark brown wooden bench for my bedroom it was so much fun. Making those memories with my parents made our bond so much stronger. The taste of a home cooked meal is delicious or the smell of freshly cleaned sheets. When I walk into my house, I always see my mom and dad sitting down and chatting up a storm then I see my dog upside down wanting belly rubs or just wanting to be pet. When dinner comes around the corner, we’re always having some kind or soup, chicken, or beef but it always smells great like it came out of a five-star restaurant. Every morning my mom and I wake up at five or six, but my dad is still asleep. We always make my lunch together than share so many hilarious laughs. Like once we needed hot sauce in my lunch it squirted up everywhere, it made a huge mess, but it was the funniest thing ever! Fights always happen in families, it’s just natural. All family’s get into fights sometimes my mom and I get into random fights like not putting away my clothes or cleaning my disgusting tragic room well that’s what my mom says. Or not coming down when they call me down for dinner then I come down an hour later. My dad on the other hand, my dad gets mad at me for little things. For example, one time I put too much cheese in my soup then he got mad I ate my dinner later that night or when I told him I was going to be home at eight from the movies I didn’t text him then I came home at eight-thirty he was not very impressed or happy. At the end of the day, we all say sorry then move on from the tiny or gigantic fight. Now just remember home is not four walls and a roof, but it’s also not a mansion or a gigantic home or a building nor materials. It’s the people that are in the home. They also don’t need to be blood related. They just need to support you and care about you. Thank you, Habitat For Humanity.
