What A Home Means To Me
What A Home Means To Me
By: Dilsehaj Kaur Dhanoa
To me, a home means love, emotions, and where I can be me. My bedroom is where I can hug, and sleep with my stuffies, where I write my feelings in my diary on my desk. I also sketch, and my creativity flows like the water flowing down the river stream.
My living room is where I can gather with my family on the comfy couch, and watch movies that bring us together. Our living room is where we can cuddle together, where me and my little sister sit on our parents laps and tell each other stories.
My kitchen is where my Grandma and my Mom cook food together. The hard work they put into our food cherishes us love, and respect. When the food is ready we all eat at the kitchen table. We talk about our day and our feelings. We also compliment each other about the food, how much we care about each other, and how we did good deeds.
My basement is big, and we play hide and seek in it. It is a little scary to me, because there are alot of bugs. When I think about it, the bugs also have a home, and a family. Also when my family is right by my side it doesn't scare me. My sister is very funny, cute, and kind. We play together, and have fun.
I am thankful for Habitat for Humanity for helping many people who are less fortunate. Imagine you didn't have a safe, comfortable home. Once more I thank Habitat Humanity for helping thousands of families.
