A Home is Not a House

Hi my name is Avery and I'm going to share what home means to me and maybe you too. To me home is where I have fun like at the library or skating class, the swimming pool or my grandpa's cottage, but to others it could be going for a walk, seeing someone smile or being with the people you love. A house you might not be able to be yourself. A house is where some people live. They could be fancy, shiny or rich but a home could be dirty, old or wet, but a home you can feel safe and loved. A house is a place that might have a long hall, but a home could be big or small. A house could have the new model windows with a shiny red door, but a home could be a tree, log or more. At a house you cook, run or play, but at home you feel like you want to stay. A house could be cozy and warm but home is where you feel welcome and whole. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for helping others and helping them thrive.
