The Meaning of Home

Home can be a place for you to reside. Home can be a sheltered place away from the perils of this world. Home can be a place with walls and rooms and furniture. Home can a structure that protects you from the elements outside. But home is not just a building… Home is a place for you to make your own. Home is a place that smells like baked bread and cookies. Home is a place where you can interact and spend time with family and friends. Home is a place to celebrate in. Home is a place for you to feel relaxed and secure. Home is a place to enjoy being outside on a warm summer day. Home is a place for you to be nourished for the next day. Home is a place where memories are established. But not everyone has all of this. Some people don’t have a home. I think everyone deserves a home. Most homes are built by builders, electricians, plumbers. But Habitat For Humanity volunteers build houses with love for the poor and care for their neighbours.
