The Meaning of Home

Imagine that you are moving into a new house. You’ve been driving for ages and you have finally arrived. As you walk to the front porch, the wave of nervousness comes to you. Imagine how nervous and excited you will be when you put your key in the key hole and turn it, imagining how amazing it will be to live in this house. As you open the door, you feel the excitement. Empty space. As soon as you see the empty space, you can imagine how it would be when you decorate the empty space the way you want. An empty room is like a white canvas. You can colour it however you want. Any way you paint, it turns out beautiful. How about you put your bed over there? Or you put your curtains over there? Decorating a room is like painting a white canvas. As many ideas come to you, the more wonderful it becomes. At first, you will feel like Alice in Wonderland. You will not feel familiar with your new house. But when you see a painting over and over, it’s like your new home; it gets familiar. A place where you belong. A place where you will have new memories. A place where families spend time together. Without families, there are no memories. Without memories, your house is just a meaningless structure. A home is filled with love, peace, and creativity. A home is where you become you, but a house is not where you become you. A house is just a place to stay. A home is a loving place. Look in the mirror; see how happy you are. Because a home is different from a house. A home is like a… FAMILY.
