Meaning of Home

What home means to me To me home is [Fam-uh-lee] people who laugh, cry, play, learn and grow together. Family the people you share your life with, the people who love and support you in good times and bad times. I know sometimes it feels like your siblings are always annoying you or your parents are always telling you to clean your room but they are still family, and they still love you. When I’m not home, I feel like I must wear a mask because I’m afraid of being judged but when I’m at home, I feel that sudden relief that I can take of that mask and be myself because my family will not judge me for who I am. When I’m at home, I don't feel like I must pretend to be little Mrs. Perfect but when I’m at school or anywhere else being judged is horrifying. I love that when I'm at home my family will comfort me if I’m having a bad day or leave me alone when I don't feel like talking. My family will support me for all my life and that makes me feel comforted. I think that everyone deserves that feeling of home. I feel safe in my home not fearful that someone could break in our home. It makes me feel safe when my family locks the door at night. My dog also makes me feel safe because if someone comes near me, he will bark at them. I feel safe when my friends come over because they always put a smile full of joy and laughter on my face. This is what home means and feels like to me. I hope that when everyone is at home they can be themselves, feel safe, be comforted and have amazing family to come home to and feel loved.
