A Reason to Stand

To me, home is not just a structure that people live in. It’s somewhere that cannot be replaced. Lots of things can: beds. Tables, mirrors. Yet one thing stands. The pit of heaven. It shall never be replaced. It’s the only thing that helps me cope. It’s like when I remember it, all the bad things suddenly repel. It’s the good of all evil. A sign of perseverance. As I snuggle in my warm crocheted bright red blanket, I think of all the memories I have made. I smell my mom’s rich mushroom soup. The door opens, “I’m home!” I ran downstairs. “Hi dad!” I say, as I jump into his arms. They feel like a warm teddy bear. I feel his leather jacket as I'm laughing with joy. Memories give us a reason to stand in this dark world. My home is very special to me. It might be dirty, ugly, rusty, but most importantly, It’s my home.
