Home to me

My home is a place where I can always turn to for advice or help. It’s a safe space where my family and I can call our own. Home tastes like Christmas dinner shared with the entire family. It feels like trust, peace, and comfort. When I’m at home, I’m surrounded by my loved ones—my family and friends. I cherish hearing their laughter and seeing their smiles. I love being outdoors, playing with my dog, and going to my camp. When I think of home, I think of Wawa Diamond Lake. I enjoy riding my 4-wheeler and the freedom it allows me to feel. Home is also riding my horse in an open field at sunset. It’s my hockey team having fun, whether we win or lose. It’s the sound of my friends singing songs or playing games together on a Saturday. Over the years, I’ve learned that home isn’t about what you have, but about the people in your life. It’s so much more than a shared last name or the name of a street—it’s my favourite place and there is still ‘oh so many places to go!’
