Pets Keep Us Together

In my home my dogs are the glue, Yet, sometimes they chew on my shoes, They are everyone's best friend, And tend to defend till the end. But, without Tank and Tina, our house wouldn’t be a home, We have a fence surrounding our house so they don’t roam. My home is never quiet, It is filled with laughter that is as loud as a riot, When my dogs bark it is as loud as a chainsaw, When the lights turn off my dogs rest their paws. When I snuggle my dogs it feels warm and safe like a caterpillar in a cocoon, I could stay there till noon. Lying close so I’m not alone, Reminding me my house is a home, Even the best of homes might need a dog. Home.
