Meaning of Home

Home is not just a place to sleep. To me, it's a place where you spend time with your family. Like when my dad plays outside with me and my brother, or when my mom reads with me. It's the place where I feel safe. It's the place where you make memories. Home isn't really about the four walls at all. It's the people you're together with. If you move or if you travel, it can still feel like home if you're with the people you love. My family went traveling for a year and stayed in many different homes. One was super tiny, one was on the 31st floor and one had a view of the train station. Even though these places were different, they still felt like home because I was having fun with my family. The meaning of home is also a place where you can be you. It's a space where you can be comfy, cozy, and silly. It's a safe place where you are free to express yourself. Some people don't have homes, so I am grateful for Habitat for Humanity to give people affordable homes.
