Why My Home is Important to Me

If home were a sight, it would be my whole family gathered around the TV watching basketball. When someone shoots, we clap and laugh and say nice shot. If home were a sound, it would my family cleaning the house with music playing in the background. Singing along like we are the next celebrities to win a Grammy. If home were a taste, it would be my favorite treat, freshly baked cinnamon rolls, with ice cream on top. Which reminds me of a hot summer day with me and my family cooling off with some ice cream taking in all the sun ray. If home were a touch, it would be my grandparents coming through the door and giving me a warm hug full of love as I tell them about my day. If home were a smell, it would either be my mom’s favorite cheery blossom candle that smells like a spring in Japan. Or it would be sinigang and adobo which are my favorite traditional Filipino foods to eat. To me home is not just a building, it’s the memories you make with your loved ones.
