Meaning of Home

To me, home means a safe place to stay, where you have your own bedroom, a lot of privacy, lots of family, little noise, and some plants. To me, home means fear of getting hit during a pillow fit with my older brother. To me, home means family like my brother, sister, mom, dad, grandfather (Ong) and the loving memories of my grandma (Ba) To me, home means height markings on the hallway wall, showing growth over the years . To me, comforting pho and spicy noodle soup, the mouthwatering scent of juicy burgers on the BBQ. To me, home means the smell of sandalwood as I wipe down the family altar. To me, home means frost- bitten fingers from digging in the freezer to gather up ice cubes to feed the thirsty plants. To me, home means love.
