Waking up on Saturday mornings Sitting next to my Grampy eating delicious breakfasts Eating warm molasses cookies Stepping into the freezing weather Spending Remembrance Day with my Grampy Warm fires crackling Eating my brother’s golden s’mores on hot summer nights Playing “You Are My Sunshine” While my mom curls my pink hair Running around with sun in my eyes Throwing water balloons at my brother My teacher squints her eyes at my sandwich Guesses a star, it was a unicorn Knees dusty, people yelling, swings squeaking Arguing over what to play next Discovering the love of writing Putting all my feelings on paper To find where I belong Spending time with my mom Relaxing doing at home spa nights Winning game nights against my family Getting first pick from the prizes Freezing in freeze dance When playing with the neighbourhood kids Walking all around the city Finding four leaf clovers and painted rocks Sailing across the water with my family Casting my line trying to catch a fish Putting bird seeds in my palm Letting birds fly and land in my hand
