Home
The meaning of home to me is being adopted. Adoption to me is getting a new family that loves you even though they have never seen you before. Just because you are adopted does not mean your biological family doesn’t love you. When I was born, I was adopted on March 15, 2010. The day I was adopted I was happy to be with my new mom and dad [and older sister]. When I got older, I asked for a little brother, and I got one. We adopted him too. So, all my siblings are adopted. But I was grateful that my mom and dad adopted me.
The difference between a house and a home. Homes are where you feel protected and safe like how I feel with my dad, that he will keep me safe. But not everyone in the world has that. Some people may not have that because maybe they move lots. So, they don’t get to make the place they have into their home. Houses are places that keep you warm, they give you a place to live, they give you shelter too. The thing that they both have in common is that they both are where your family lives. But no matter where your family is, it is your home.
What I think homes need to have. Homes must have love, care, and someone you can talk to. Individually homes should have people who support you, and cheer for you. Homes need to be filled with people who have an interest in you and what you do and take the time to get to know you. They also encourage you in what you do. That is what family is for, and that is the things my home has and that everyone's home should have.
