All The Way Down The Road

If you go down the road all the way past all the green trees that swish in the wind, you will find a house that is burnt down to its skeleton. Ashes surround the house and swirl everywhere. Filling the air with the smell of smoke and choking the smell of the magnolias, the jasmine and the honeysuckle that grow wild in the meadows. The family who lived there have a 5 year old boy and a 15 year old girl. The girl says to her mother, “My home is gone, it's burnt and everything I love is gone” her mother then says to her “Your home is not gone, only your house because your home will always be with the people you love no matter where you reside, not everything you love is gone, is it? Do I, your mother or father, not have your love? We are not gone, are we?” With that the girl comes to realize that her mother is right, her house might be gone, burnt to the ground but her home is safe because she is loved and because she feels safe and cared for and because she loves her family and her family loves her.
