This Is Our Home

When I sprint to my house after school I look up and gaze at a big brown brick house with a doormat that says “ Welcome to our home” As I pass by the welcoming and loving entryway porch with that positive message, All of a sudden it feels like I belong here as I pass through the front door. I drop my backpack and trot over to my nice black TV. The vivid colours from the TV glare in my eyes. Then suddenly my mom and dad and my little brother entered in through that loving and welcoming front door. I run over to my family and give them a big hug filled with peace, joy, and love. Now this house is our home. Now I feel safe in our home from Robbers, Kidnappers, and thieves. And the most scary feeling of all that everyone recalls, being alone in an ice cube of solitude with no social life at all. I’m so grateful for my home. It is like the glue that keeps my family and my dog Maggie from falling into a bottomless pit. It is also the heartbeat of the family and friends when they come over. I know it’s really hard to get a home, the prices have been going through the roof lately! But I know my parents work as hard as they can. A home is supposed to be comfortable, with the smell of home cooked meals, and it is my favourite today! A creamy, gourmet, and delicious meal of spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce. If your home is not comfortable, it is not a true home. A true home is a place where you can feel YOU, and embrace all the positive feelings you have ever experienced in your life, like a big cozy blanket you wrap around in. It’s cozy and warm and you feel like you want to sleep. This is how a true home should feel to everyone. A loving, joyous, and interesting place where family and friends where family and friends swarm around. Like I said, there is a difference between a house and a true home. Because This Is Our Home.
