Home is where your story begins

A home might come in different shapes and sizes but it does not need to be king sized, it’s where love, trust, comfort and traditions get passed from one generation to the next. Eating Raclette (Swiss cheese dish) with my family at home is second to none. A house is nothing like a home, the house is just a shell to protect us from the elements. The people who live there fill it with love, joy, laughter and create a calm space. It feels only right to celebrate my Mom’s yummy 3 Kings Day bread at home. It can be miserable outside but once I step through the front door of our home, my feelings are refilled in a heartbeat. Nothing comes close to snuggling up by the fireplace drinking a hot chocolate or watching a movie with my family. Every Sunday my brother and I wake up to the yummy smell of fresh baked bread which fills the whole home. My Mom prepares this braided bread called “Zopf.” Biting into that warm delicious traditional Swiss treasure makes me happy. All of this makes my home unique. Thank you Habitat Humanity for building affordable and comfortable homes so we can live a happy life.
