My Home
My home is full of memories that we look back on and remember the good old days. Memories is what gives My home its name.
My home is full of great cherished memories that I will keep with me forever.
For me, some of the best things happen in my home. Like the time we welcomed my dog into my family, or the time we had family Christmas dinner at home. It is not about what you get but the memories that you make. This is home.
In the morning, my mom wakes me up with the clap of her hands. The sweet mouthwatering aromas of pancakes and egg sandwiches fills the air of my bedroom. My eyes open and a smile of delight spreads across my face, as I happily get up. My mom greets me with a smile as I walk into the kitchen. I hug her to show my gratitude. Then I eat brunch with my family as we enjoy each other’s company. This is home.
I love my home because my home is a place where I can wake up and feel loved. A place where I know I belong. A place to be myself, to laugh, to cry, to know I have a place to grow, to thrive. A place where I know I can go when I feel alone. A home is not just a house, it is more than that. A home is not just four walls and a roof over your head, but a place where you feel that warm embrace, the instant love, the feeling of safe. This is home.
Everyone deserves a home. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for giving homes to people who need and deserve the chance to own a warm, loving home.
