What Home Really Means to Me

Home isn’t the same for everyone. For me, my home is a place I can take refuge and sometimes just hide from everything that bothers me. My home is not perfect. No one’s is. Sometimes my home is what I’m hiding from but at the end of the day home is where I feel safe and respected. To me, my home is the center of my family’s love. My best memories are in my home. My home is more than just a home and some love. My home holds my best memories, my childhood, and it reminds me of my family and all the time we spent together. My home can sometimes make me feel lonely and sad but mostly it’s full of love and support. Home is where I learn and grow, like a sprout slowly but surely growing into a beautiful tree. Sometimes there are fights but at the end everyone has cooled down and are back to their normal selves. In the darkest times there is always a spark of light. Your family and people who you trust will always be there to help you find that spark in what you think is a never-ending spiral of darkness. To me, home is like a flower, just waiting to blossom into a beautiful rose. In my home I have everything I could ever need and want (granted I don’t have EVERYTHING I want but you get what I mean). I have food, care, love, support, and so much more. For me, a house is just a box made of wood, steel, and cement but a home is a place of hope and dreams to soar higher than the tallest tree. My home is as free as an eagle soaring through the sky with no limits and as warm as a crackling fire. When I’m in my home I feel cherished and welcome. I feel safe and happy. Home makes me feel strong. Even if I can’t lift a dozen cars, I know with the support of all my loved ones and people who care about me we could lift a house. Strong bonds tie my family together and without them I could never feel at home. Every house looks different on the outside but made from the same things such as wood, cement, beams, and more. Homes on the other hand look the same on the outside but are actually very different. Some things that make homes so different is religion and beliefs. Every building holds memories and every memory hold feelings but home is were the memories we hold closest to out heart resides.
