Simple, but Special Words
To me, simple, but special words matter the most of all. In the morning, whether I’m at my Mom’s or Dad’s, I wake up to the simple, but special words: Good morning, Beautiful! Those simply special words make me think: “Wow! I’m loved, I’m needed, I’m thought of, and I’m cared for.”
I get out of bed and feel the soft, squishy, carpeted floor at my dad’s, and the warm, sun-absorbed wood floor at my mom’s.
I go down the hallway into the kitchen. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!! The smell of eggs and toast float through the air and into my nose. Here’s your breakfast, Sweetheart! I hear my Mom or Dad say.
“Welp, I better go to school”. I say softly. I walk out the door and see the soft, cold, squishy snow on my driveway. As I walk through the snow, I think about all the people that don’t have a home and think about how they must feel. Then, I think about Habitat for Humanity. “Thank you, for helping these people,” I whisper softly.
