Home is not a Place

When I was young in Nigeria we lived in a small apartment. After we settled, my mom registered me and my sisters to a school. I went to school, it was hard getting to know the school and everyone. By the time I was 9, I knew everyone and everyone knew me, I felt safe with my friends. By grade four I was the president of my class, everyone in my class knew me and I felt safe. Then after I graduated from grade four, I moved to a new school. Time flew by and everyone knew me, so it was sad to move. I overheard my mom say, ‘new country’ and we moved to a new country, and a new apartment. It didn’t feel like home, but with my mom and sisters there I felt at home. So, in conclusion home is not the house, it is the people to me.
