Meaning of Home

I don’t know about you, but I know I am home when I…. I know when I am home. I’m home when I see my queen sized bed with my purple bedspread, the black bed frame, and the two flowers on top of the frame. To top it all off, my two comfy purple pillows that keep me warm during the night. I know when I am home. I’m home when I smell my strawberry pound cake perfume. Anytime I enter my room the scent of it alone makes me feel like “I am home” in my room. I know when I am home. I’m home when I see my Mom making jollof rice with a really BIG pot. Even the smell of YUMMYYYY jollof rice will let me know I am home and I can just relax. I know when I am home. I’m home when I see all the decorations my Mom gets from Home Sense, neatly arranged. Each and every one of them has a unique design. I know and feel the MOST at home when I see my parents. A home doesn't need to be a building. A home is where you feel comfortable and safe. I feel the most safe around my parents. I am so grateful for having them around me. Thank you Habitat for Humanity, for helping people when they are going through rough times and giving them a chance to have a home.
