The Meaning of Home

My home is not just bricks and a roof. A home is where there's memories, history, and love. My home in the Philippines is a fascinating place because it is full of interesting history and memories of my great-grandma, grandma and my grandpa lived their whole life there and I never moved in my life. In our backyard there was an old house where my cousins used to live with me. My home used to be a restaurant and a house too. My mom was a cook in the Philippines and she was a great cook. I just know she was very popular and many people would come and eat there. After my dad went to Canada she ended being a cook and became a housewife. Our restaurant was rebuilt into a house. I felt sad when she ended her career being a cook because I used to help her. She is still so good at cooking. My home went through floods, earthquakes, and more but my physical home is still standing and I am happy with that. My home now in The Philippines is now abandoned and no one really lives there anymore. My grandpa would sometimes visit there. My home was next to my great grandfather’s house. We used to go to his house and we took care of him but a few years later he died. I felt sad and heart broken. His house was now being taken care of and cleaned by someone. My home is great and I will never forget it.
