What Home Means To Me
When you first move into a new house you do not feel like you are
at home. You feel sad and lonely and when you move you have no friends.
When you start to make memories you get more and more comfortable in
your home.
Home is when you feel safe and loved. Home is when you see
lovely plants and feel the soft carpet on your feet.
Home is not just a place to sleep, eat and cook. Home is a place where you can show infinite love, kindness, where you play games, watch TV and read stories. When you walk on the floors you will remember all the memories you made on that floor.
When you walk on your living room carpet you remember you took your first steps. When you lay in your bed you remember you said your first words. A house is not a home until a new family moves into that house and makes it their own home by making memories.
A house is more than just made out of bricks and wood. A house is made out of love, grace, kindness, safety and gratefulness. Just because you have toys, technology, and other things doesn't make it a home. Houses have hearts but we just can’t see them. When you move out of that house the heart is no longer filled up with love.
A lot of people don't have homes or houses some people just live on the streets, but you change a lot of people's lives by giving them a house to make a home. You should all be proud of yourselves. People have a home and a house because of you. Thank you Habitat for Humanity!
