Don't Take It for Granted
There once was a teenager who never appreciated his home. He would complain to his parents.
“My friends have big homes with the newest video games, I don’t have any of that,” he would say. Then on one of his rants he thought, “I am going to run away!”
His parents pleaded “no please stay!". But he ran away.
After a long time, he got hungry he said to himself, “oh mom will just, "he stopped himself “oh right I ran away.” He looked back, “I really did run away.”
For the next few weeks, he would beg for food, water, and money. He would only eat nonnutrius food like energy bars or granola bars and would sell empty soda cans to the depo for money.
One day after cashing in his cans he said to himself, “Today I am going to a new spot, probably by the gas station because I finally have enough money for a good sandwich." He collected his things and started to walk toward there when he spotted a car. It looked like his old car, so he followed it fast. He started to flood with memories like boys' day which was every Friday, and they would do things like watch a movie, play sports and stuff like that. When the car got to the house, he got more memories like hearing his dad's ecstatic laugh and eating his mom's homemade eclairs while watching Charlie and the chocolate factory on their brown peeling leather couch. He got the courage to go knock on their door. When he did, he was greeted by his parents who asked, “Who are you?”
He responded with, “I am your son”
His parents's eyes went wide, and they all hugged in a tight embrace he never complained again
