Home is more than a house

Home to me is a place you can go to feel safe. You can come home to a safe space and bake a cake. To come home to your family, full of laughter and joy, to play a board game at the kitchen table with joy. To come home to the place you can love, play and laugh without being judged. A house can be big or small, tall or short but a home is filled with memories and joy. Your house can be tidy and clean but your home looks used and can be messy. Home isn't just a place, it's where all your memories are made. When I go in it brings me happiness that nowhere else gives me. I could have the worst day but walk in and instantly feel happiness, hope and joy. Home a place you can cry without being judged, you can cry and then be loved in a place you can call home. Home isn't just a place to go every day, it's a place you can go to have faith in the people you love. When I see a house my face doesn't light up with joy like it does when I see a home. Home is a place you've made memories in the kitchen making cookies and cakes with your family. Home is a place when you've grown taller and wiser. Home has love you can't find anywhere else. For me home is not just a place you can sleep, it's a home full of strength, hope, love, peace and joy where I can laugh uncontrollably. It's where I can feel happy and safe. Even in a place I don't know I feel at home because home is more than just for walls. It’s where you make it.
