A Home, Not a House
You might think that a home is the same as a house, but no. When you walk into a house, you see shoes and coats. In a home, when you walk in, you feel loved, full of joy, and that is where my friends and family come in. In a house there’s a kitchen there are plates, spoons, forks, a table. In a home, there are delicious homemade meals where we talk about our days. A house has a bedroom where there’s a bed, a dresser, and a closet. In my home, in my bedroom I have a bed, vanity, and closet. I dream, fall asleep, pet my dog, watch movies, get ready for the day. But in the basement of a house, it looks like it has some toys, but they all look like they have never been played with. In my home, my basement is full of toys everywhere. My couch has a blanket on it, and pillows, too. The back yard of a house has grass; not much. But my home has a pool, play structure, shed, and in my backyard, me and my brother catch frogs. A community might be a place where you live and go to school, but my community is not just where I live, it is where it is inclusive, welcoming, and caring.
