As Home

As the palace of infinite warmth Shall the hearth be wherever called home Hoovering high through the mountain top sky Or running low, low the tide hides Meanings many so you’ll find Every life needs a place as home Through the minute, through the month, goes the year, passed the century, home has always been a different word, a different place than the rest. From my own experience, being at home would always make me feel loved, beloned, and warmed from head to toe, all the way deep inside my heart. When I arrive home, I would always feel a burst of excitement like a bush of roses blooming out in the refreshing April rain. Oh, speaking of rain, let me tell you a story: When I was eight, a storm swept through the city. My mom and I were at the mall, shopping. I was really scared. I didn’t want to be at the mall, feeling trapped, only to look at the jets o’ water raining down from the sky like armies raining arrows upon their enemy! I so badly wanted to be at home! But to make things worse, the water was slowly forming a flood— a flood that took the pipes almost half a month to clear! You can only imagine what life would be like without home in the storm. And yeah, I DO NOT want to imagine that. Nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can ever be compared to the comfort and welcoming warmth of home. And have you ever thought of all those animals out there? Where would the deers go and where would the butterflies hide? Yes, home. Their homes are not as big and bright as ours. But they are homes. As homes, they would always bring out the best in us, give us the shelter we need, and most importantly: be our home.
