THE MEANING OF HOME

Home can move, just like when I moved to this side of Winnipeg. For a couple of weeks, home was in Japan, a place I had never been before. For a while, home was in Hong Kong, where I met family I had never seen. Home moves with you if your loved ones come too. Not everyone has a home where they feel safe, so I am happy I have a safe home where I feel loved. Home is where I gaze at the photos of the ones I love. Home is where I can celebrate my culture and write endless stories. I can listen to my mom read and my dad laugh, and I can still smell the scent of soup noodles. The quiet calmness of night and the peacefulness of day is a part of me. Everything I am exposed to becomes a part of me. Home you cannot touch. Home is carried within you and the ones you love.
