What Home Means to Me
To me, home means my room, family and my house. Home means North America, Canada and Winnipeg. To me, home is racing my brother on the beach and building enormous sand castles. Home is the sand on the beach to the late night bike rides at the lake and catching my first fish off the dock. I am from playing tennis in the sunset while enjoying a fresh cup of tea in the morning.
Home is late night games of Scrabble to the eight hour tennis road trips. Home is the New Year's Eve party with my friends, to the submarine rides where my dad got sea sick.
Home means my school, my classmates, my teachers and my friends. Home means my cabin at Victoria Beach, to winning the tournament and hoisting the trophy in tennis doubles and singles. Home means playing video games with my brother until 1:00 a.m. in the morning. Home means the family trips to professional tennis tournaments, to getting the best tennis player in the world's autograph. I’m from the roller coasters and the mirror mazes.
I’m from the family barbecue. I’m from the long hours trouble shooting my new 3D printer to my first print. I’m from my first time holding a tennis racquet to the hard court, clay court and grass court.
I’m from sledding down the snow covered hill with my brother, to running down that same hill in the summer. I am from my first day of kindergarten to my first year of middle school.
Home means the hugs from my mom and the high fives from my brother. To the, “You got this,” from my dad and the warm smiles from my sister.
