Habitat for Humanity: Writing about Home

One out of eight Canadians don't have a safe or decent home to live in. Some people struggle with their homes because they can't afford them or they can't take care of them. This is why Habitat for Humanity helps to ensure people can afford decent homes that are safe to live in. I love my home because I know that my home isn't the building itself but it's more of the feeling you get when you're in your home and around the people you love. My home is filled with my family and people who support me and love me. I also have many special memories in my home. These memories will always remind me of my home. And the feeling I get when I am in my home. Secondly, at home I feel a sense of belonging. At home I feel like I belong and I can truly be myself. I can also feel like I fit in and have a connection with the things, people and animals around me. At home I know that no one will judge me and that I fit in. Another thing I love about my home is tranquility. My home is a place where I can escape the noise and chaos of the outside world. I can also do the things I enjoy and take a break. I think everyone needs a break sometimes and your home is the perfect place to relax. I think homes are very important and they can help you feel connections to everything you love. Anyone can feel at home anywhere and anytime. These are just some of the reasons I think everyone should have a place to call home and a place where they can feel safe, loved, comforted and free. Cecilia Ahern once said, "Home is not a place, it’s a feeling." and I couldn't agree more. I wish everyone had the luxury of the feeling of a home.
