Home
This is my lovely poem,
About what is not a house, but a home.
A house is a building, with walls and a floor,
But oh, a home is so much more.
A house has the smell of nothing, it's bare,
But a home has the smell of delight in the air.
A house tastes like bland white bread,
But a home tastes like jam toast, well spread.
A house might as well be extra and fancy,
But a home is where we do a tacky kitchen dancy.
Houses all smell like sugar and flowers,
But a home smells like it's ours.
It's our place to be thrilled, happy and have fun,
until the day is done.
A house is boring, just a structure, you see,
But a home is where we make memories.
It's a place full of bliss, caring and love.
The people in it sent from the sky above.
Home is such a joyous place,
But sometimes there is a trace,
Of envy and sad,
And sometimes even mad.
But all that is normal, you see,
These feelings help make home a better place to be.
