Meaning of Home

Home for me is a place where I can be sad, I can be bored, and I can be depressed. But at the same time I can feel safe. Home is where I can play with my friends and be happy, be excited and be wild! My home is filled with Italian, Ukrainian, and Polish spirit. My home is the summer has a smell of flowers that are blooming in the garden. My home has the smell of cinnamon from the candles burning on Christmas Eve night. My home is filled with lots of laughter and chaos during the holidays but at the same time I feel happy and calm when I am surrounded by family. Outside my home there is the sound of neighbourhood kids playing basketball on the driveway and the rhythm of the basketball bouncing on the cement. My home is where friends and family come together to cheer for our favourite football teams during the Grey Cup and Super Bowl parties. My home is where the doorbell rings and our neighbours and best friend are at our door with a tray of muffins and brownies to comfort me during a hard time. My home is where my family comes together everyday to eat supper at our kitchen table. My home is where I sit at my desk to work on school projects. My home is where I can lay down on my soft and warm bed with my stuffies and blanket at the end of the day. My home is where I feel the comfort of my mom and dad when I come home from school. My home will always be the place where I remember the tastes, feeling, smells and sounds of growing up. This is what home means to me in so many different ways.
