The Meaning of Home to Me

Home is my favorite place to be. Home is a place where I am recognized and loved. My dog chevy is always there for me. My step-dad is so supportive. My step-siblings and I have a strong connection. My nani and papa made me feel so cozy. My gramma and grampa make me feel so welcome. Maxhamish Lake is so exhilarating. My cousins, zane and teagan are such great buddies to me. My brother means the world to me. My mum is my most favourite person in the world. These are the reasons why home is my favourite place to be. My dog, Chevy, is a big part of home to me. When I get home from a long day, it means everything to me when she lays down and cuddles me. When she does that, I know home is the most important place in my life. My stepdad, Andrew, is a big part of my life. He has been my stepdad for four years and I know that he will be my stepdad for the rest of my life. He works so hard for our family and I don't think I could ever ask for a better stepfather. My step siblings mean so much to me! Easton is my older brother and Beau is my younger sister. Even though I just met them not long ago, they are so loving and caring. I'm so proud that I made such a great connection with them. When I met my nani and papa this christmas, my whole life changed! I know I won my papa's heart over when he started calling me baby. Me and nani also have a really strong connection! We bake together, play outside together, and have really meaningful conversations that help me cope with life, and that to me is a very important part of home. When my mum takes me to my gramma and grampa’s house I get so excited! When I hang out with my gramma, our favourite thing to do is bake! My favourite thing to bake is lazy daisy cake. It tastes so good and when everyone comes to gramma and grampas house, for dessert we always have lazy daisy cake! With my grampa, we sit on the couch together and we have so much fun! He will pretend to scare me and it's so funny, Grampa's laugh is home to me. When we sit on the couch, he will tickle me until I almost die of laughter and that is an important part of home. In the summer, we go out to Maxhamish Lake, to me it's the best place in the world! There is so much to do there! We go tubing, fishing, boating, swimming and so much more! When we go there,we have 2 cabins. One is called the lower cabin and one is called the upper cabin. The lower cabin is for all the kids to stay in, and the upper cabin is for adults but my favourite cabin is the lower one. Because we usually store all of the good food in there and we stay up late on rainy nights and tell stories under the flashlight and that is the one of the best parts about home to me. My 2 cousins, Zane and Teagan mean so much to me! They are so funny and cute. They put such a big smile on my face and I'm just so lucky to have 2 great cousins like them! My brother means the most to me. I will do anything for Gunner, I love Gunner more than anyone could ever even imagine! If I didn't have Gunner then I think my life would be over. Finally, my mama means the absolute world to me. Without my mum, I wouldn't love everyone else the way I do. My mama is the one person I will always need in life. No matter what she does I will never love her any differently. Nobody will ever know how much I appreciate my mum. We aren't only mother and daughter, but we are best friends and we always will be. A house is not a home, it's the people you have and the memories you make that makes it a home. My dog Chevy is one of my favourite pets ever. My stepdad, step siblings, nani and papa have changed my life in such a positive way. Gramma and grampas house is the most comforting place ever. Maxhamish Lake is heaven on earth. My cousins are the funniest kids ever. My brother and mama are the two most important people to me in the whole world. Home to me is the most important, safe place in the world and I am so very lucky to have one like this.
